Planning Vision has been commissioned by a local architectural firm, ARC Design to undertake a Heritage Impact Assessment of a proposal seeking a high-rise new-build development, one of the tallest buildings in Gibraltar proposed to be developed as a primarily residential development on a site situated adjacent to Gibraltar’s Nature Reserve and the Graham’s Cave Complex World Heritage Site.
Due to its location in respect of the Nature Reserve and the World Heritage Site, PV had to undertake an in depth, thorough examination and assessment of the potential heritage impact of the proposal on the site itself, as well as the wider area surrounding the site in order to ensure that full prospective impact was taken into consideration to provide assessment results and recommendations to the Client to be presented to the DPC and relevant HMGoG Departments in order for the proposal to be determined, as it was deferred on the basis of two matters, one of them being heritage grounds.
